Chapter History
The El Paso Alumnae Chapter was organized in 1930 and is a group of dynamic women of all ages who love celebrating Zeta Tau Alpha and all it has to offer. Our members consist of recent graduates to mothers and grandmothers. We are proud to say that at National Convention 2012 and 2014 we receieved the Crown Chapter Award. In 2013, we celebrated Gamma Gamma's 75th Anniversary on the campus of The University of Texas at El Paso and in 2014 we hosted Texas Zeta Day in our beloved sun city.
As we dug a little deeper into our history, the following excerpt was found in The History of Zeta Tau Alpha 1898-1928 Vol. 2 by Shirley Kreasan Krieg:
In 1915 eleven active alumnae chapters were reported, nine of which had been organized since the last convention. These were: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, El Paso, Johnson City (TN), Los Angeles, Millikin, San Antonio, and Wellsburg.
